Appraisal Standards

Our appraisals comply with the Appraisal Foundation’s current Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the Appraisal Practices and Code of Ethics of the American Society of Appraisers. All our reports are confidential and no part of the report will be released to anyone without the client’s written permission. Ethical standards require that no appraisal be guided by an interest in the property. We do not appraise collections in order to purchase them directly or act as a broker.

Appraisals Contain

Correctly prepared appraisals are individually written, lengthy reports and not simple lists of property with values attached. Our appraisals are in depth, thoroughly researched, legal documents which contain a multitude of information including: Appraised Value |Statement of Purpose | Analysis of Valuation Used | Detailed Description of the Object(s) Photograph(s) | Bibliography | Certification.

We offer art appraisals and estimates to suit your needs. Please select which service you would like from the list below.

This is an official documentation of your artwork. A thorough analysis of the artist and the particular work including history and market valuation. This service will yield an appraisal accepted by official agencies and auction houses.

Your privacy is important to us. We will not share, rent, or sell your personal or purchase information

Our Guarantee

Your satisfaction as a patron is guaranteed. Returns on purchases must be called in to Roughton Galleries no later than three days after reception. We ask that your return be shipped back in the original packing materials and container, and that you send your return via Federal Express / Second-Day Express. Returns must be insured for the maximum $500.00 Federal Express will allow. Roughton Galleries is not responsible for the cost of return shipping and handling. If you wish to make a return, simply notify us at 214-213-1645 (From 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CST).

After we receive your return, we will credit your credit card or issue you a check for the price of the artwork. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on commissioned artwork.

Shipping and Handling

Shipping charges are based on the size, weight and location of recipient. Shipping and handling charges will be added to the credit card charge at time of shipping. You will be e-mailed or called notifying you of all related charges before your credit card is charged. Since each artwork shipped to you directly from Roughton Galleries, delivery times and shipping costs will be quoted within 48 hours. Generally, you can expect to receive your purchase within one to two weeks. We offer expedited delivery service for an additional cost.

Tracking you Purchase

You will be able to track any purchase that was shipped via UPS or Federal Express. Roughton Galleries will provide you with a number for tracking purposes on your second e-mail confirmation. If you need assistance, please call us at 214-213-1645.

Returning Artwork

After receiving your purchase and you decide not to keep it, you may simply return it to us. All shipping and handling charges will be the responsibility of the customer.

Sales Tax

Roughton Galleries is required to charge state sales tax on purchases shipped to Texas and California.
