Brian's Notes "Femme de L'Artiste, 1908" is oil on canvas measuring 29" x 23-1/2." The painting is signed and dated lower right "T. E. Butler '08." There are a gallery labels on verso from "Waddington's Fine Arts, Montreal" and "Hammer Galleries, New York." There is a brass artist plaque inscribed "Femme de L'Artiste, Suzanne Hoschede. She was Theodore Butler's wife and the eldest stepdaughter of Claude Monet." Provenance: The estates of David and Eula Wintermann. Accompanied by the original bill of sale from Galleries Maurice Sternberg, Chicago, Illinois, dated June 16, 1978. - Collection
