Roughton Galleries collection (inventory) consists of important American & European paintings from the 19th and early 20th century. Although the collection (both past and present) features works by some of America's and Europe's greatest painters, we realize that continuing to locate works by these artists is becoming for difficult, with prices for many of these artist's works becoming prohibitive.

Therefore, we are focusing our attention, research, and resources toward locating quality paintings by important but lesser known artists from the same period. We believe that these artists deserve to have their work judged on individual merit without prejudice of name or signature.

Creativity, originality, artistic craftmanship and whether the artist has left part of his soul in his works, should be the standard by which all works of art should be judged, again, without prejudice.
